Maya graduated with a diploma in Psychology Studies from Temasek Polytechnic in 2018, where she undertook several research projects including a longitudinal evaluation of a dyslexia remediation program. 

After graduating, she embarked on a 5 year career in social services, where she developed, ran, and evaluated group work programmes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. She also worked in a student care center for children who had varying educational needs. She is passionate about making learning fun for every child and believes that children learn best through play. 

In her free time, in between chasing her toddler around the house, she enjoys spiritual reading, experimenting in the kitchen and watching true crime documentaries.

She is bilingual in both English and Mandarin.
